Typ 181
The Volkswagen Type 181 (1968–1983), also known as the Kübelwagen or 'Thing', was originally developed for military use but was also sold civilly as an open off-road vehicle. With an air-cooled boxer engine, a simple yet robust platform shared with the Beetle and the Karmann Ghia, and four doors without a roof, the 181 is one of the most unique VWs ever built.
Here you will find parts specifically for or compatible with the Type 181. Many parts are shared with the Beetle, T1, and Karmann Ghia, recognizable to anyone accustomed to working on an air-cooled VW themselves.
