This door hinge pin (OEM 111 831 423C) is located in the upper hinge of your Beetle's door and thus bears the full weight of the door. The threaded hole in the pin serves as a mounting point for mirrors and other hardware. Because the pin is under stress, a worn one should be replaced immediately to keep your door level and prevent sagging. Combine this with the corresponding lower hinge pin for a complete door overhaul.
