Electric fuel sender for the VW T1 Bus 03/1955–07/1967 and the Karmann Ghia 08/1960–07/1961 and 08/1966–07/1973, with OEM number 271 919 051B. The sender measures the fuel level in the tank via a variable resistor and passes this signal on to the fuel gauge on the dashboard. Replacement is common when the gauge shows unreliable readings due to worn contacts.
