Seal for the rear hub of the VW T1 Bus up to 07/1967, VW Beetle and Karmann Ghia, with OEM numbers 113 501 315 and 111 501 315. The ring seals the rear hub towards the brake drum and prevents bearing grease from getting onto the brake lining. Replacement is common during a rear wheel bearing overhaul or with visible grease leakage on the backing plate.
